Invited Sessions
Propose and chair a session of invited talks at APS 2027 in Durham, 12 to 15 July 2027.
Contents
Invited sessions bring together a group of speakers around a theme chosen by the session chair. If you would like to chair an invited session at APS 2027, please submit a proposal through the online form. The programme committee reviews every proposal and will notify chairs of its decision by 15 January 2027.

About invited sessions
The session chair proposes the theme and the speakers, and chairs the session at the conference. Each session runs for ninety minutes and carries four presentations, giving roughly twenty minutes per speaker including questions. The overall shape of the conference is on the programme overview page.

How to propose a session
Submit your proposal through the invited session proposal form by 1 December 2026. If you would like to discuss an idea for a session before submitting, please contact the organisers at [email protected].
After your session is accepted
- Chairs are informed of the decision on their proposal by 15 January 2027.
- Each invited speaker submits a title and abstract by 15 February 2027. Chairs of accepted sessions will receive instructions to pass on to their speakers.
- Every speaker must register for the conference. The early registration rate is available until 30 April 2027.
Please note, acceptance of a session does not register its speakers. Each presenter registers individually through the conference registration site, and talks without a registered presenter will be removed from the programme. Fees and deadlines are on the conference registration page.
