Conference Registration

One fee covers every session, all catering during the conference, and both receptions.

Registration for INFORMS APS 2027 opens on [date TBC]. The conference takes place at Durham University Business School from 12 to 15 July 2027. One fee covers every session, all catering during the conference, and both receptions.

Every delegate presenting an accepted abstract must register and pay in full by the presenter deadline below, or the abstract will be withdrawn from the programme.

All fees are quoted in pounds sterling and are exempt from VAT.

Please note the following

  • Note 1. Member rates require an active INFORMS Applied Probability Society membership number, which is checked at the point of payment. Joining the society before you register is usually cheaper than paying the regular rate.
  • Note 2. Student rates are available to anyone currently registered for a doctoral or masters degree. Evidence of student status may be requested.
  • The early rate applies to registrations completed and paid before 1 May 2027. The standard rate applies from that date.
  • APS 2027 is an in person event and there is no option of attending virtually.
  • Day delegate rates are not available for this conference.
  • The conference dinner is not included in any registration category and is bookable as an optional extra by all attendees.

Please note, all abstracts without a registered presenter and completed payment will be removed from the conference programme after the presenter deadline. Any registration that still shows an outstanding balance on that date will be cancelled. There is no registration on site.

What the registration fee includes

Unless otherwise advised on your confirmation, your registration fee covers the following.

  • Admission to all technical sessions, plenary lectures, prize lectures and the exhibition
  • Conference materials, comprising a printed short programme and online access to the full programme with abstracts
  • Tea, coffee and lunch on each day of the conference
  • Admission to the Welcome Reception on Monday 12 July and the Farewell Reception on Thursday 15 July
  • Drinks and refreshments at St Chad’s College

The following are booked separately.

  • The conference dinner at Durham Castle on Wednesday 14 July, at £65 per person. Delegates are required to make their own way to and from the venue.
  • Accommodation. Rooms are held at Hatfield College at a conference rate; see the accommodation page.

Social programme and activities

Alongside the technical programme, delegates may choose one optional activity. You will be asked to select a preference when you register.

Cathedral tour A guided tour of Durham Cathedral, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
River tour A boat trip on the River Wear around the Durham peninsula.
Walking tour A guided walk through the historic city centre.
No activity Delegates who prefer not to take part may select this option.

Payment methods

  • Payment for conference registrations can be made by card or bank transfer.
  • All fees are quoted and charged in GBP (£). If you are offered a choice of currency, please select GBP. Payments made in other currencies will not be processed.
  • Bank charges and currency exchange fees are at the delegate’s own expense and should be factored in when transferring funds, to ensure the full fee is received into the conference account.
  • It is the responsibility of the person creating the registration to save a copy of the invoice and process it for payment.

Durham University delegates

Delegates based at Durham University register through a separate process rather than the main registration portal, and may pay by internal account code. Details and the registration form will be published here in due course. [Link TBC]

Invitation letters

  • Participants can download an invitation letter from the registration portal once their abstract has been accepted and their fee has been paid in full.
  • If no abstract has been submitted but an invitation letter is still required, please contact [email protected] with your full name as it appears in your passport, your affiliation and your registration reference. Please allow ten working days.
  • The organising committee is not able to contact embassies or consulates on a delegate’s behalf.

Cancellations and substitutions

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
  • Cancellations received by [date TBC] will be refunded in full, less a £50 administration fee.
  • Cancellations received between [date TBC] and [date TBC] will be refunded 50% of the total registration value, including the cost of the conference dinner.
  • No refunds are possible for cancellations received after [date TBC], and no refunds are payable for non attendance.
  • Substitutions are possible at any time and at no cost until [date TBC]. No substitutions are available after this date.
  • Please allow four weeks for refund payments to be processed.

Access and dietary requirements

Please tell us during registration if you have step free access, hearing loop, dietary or other requirements. The Waterside Building is fully step free. Some social venues in the historic city centre are not, and the organising committee will confirm arrangements with you directly. A quiet room and a parents’ room are available throughout the conference.
